Robot Academy brings you world-champion advice on building robots, teaching STEM and winning competitions

Invention Convention Sumo Robot Competition

IMG_5724

Last weekend, we hosted a Lego Robot Sumo event at the Cleveland Regional Championship for the Invention Convention.  We had a great time, and gave out lots of ribbons to young Lego fans who built really cool robots (with out help).  Next weekend (May 9) we'll be hosting a similar event at the Columbus regional championship for Invention Convention.

We've always been huge fans of the Invention Convention program (http://inventionconvention.org).  In fact, four of our founders (Michael Vawter, Michelle Vawter, Mark David Wright and John Michael Wright) won the Invention Convention's Grand Prize Edison Award when they were younger.  At the Columbus event, we'll even be giving away free passes to Lego Robot Camps.

Visit the Columbus event (even if you aren't in Invention Convention) if you want to have your kid build robots with Robot Academy instructors and compete with them against other students.  There is absolutely no charge.  You can even enter a raffle to win a free Lego Robot Camp.
